Description

The symbol Function converts the specified source {source} argument into a a new Symbol object . Normally this function is used to create a symbol from a source string, since Symbols can be easily used as identifiers and strings are not easily used as identifiers.

When to use

The symbol function is used to coerce an object into a symbol.
