Example Vector map 004

 

 

Description

This example defines a Vector and applies the append function to each element of the Vector using the map function.

 

Details

Define a Vector containing various fruit names:

(define Fruits #("apple" "orange" "lemon")) Returns: #<Vector 123456>

Convert the fruits to the plural form:

(setq A (map (lambda (x) (append x "s") ) Fruits )) Returns: #<Vector 123456>

Displays the modified values of the Vector.

A[0] Returns: apples
A[1] Returns: oranges
A[2] Returns: lemons

Notes and Hints

The apply function is ideal for situations that require updating the values in the entire Vector.
